0 - 6 Month Puppy Care Tips
Feed your French Bulldog puppy 3-4 times a day with high-quality puppy food formulated for small breeds. Their small stomachs require smaller, more frequent meals to ensure proper growth and energy.
Your puppy will need core vaccinations such as distemper, parvovirus, and rabies, along with non-core vaccines based on your location and vet’s recommendations. A vaccination schedule will be provided to help you stay on track. We provide the first ½ of the vaccination schedule while it's required for you to keep up with the 2nd half.
Consistency is key. Use a designated potty area, reward positive behavior with treats or praise, and establish a regular schedule for meals and bathroom breaks. Patience and positive reinforcement are essential during this stage.
Provide safe chew toys to soothe their gums and redirect chewing behavior to appropriate items. Avoid giving hard or brittle objects that could damage their teeth or pose a choking hazard.
7 month - 1 year Puppy Care
Transition your Frenchie to adult dog food around 10-12 months old. Gradually mix the new food with their current puppy food over a week to avoid digestive upset.
A 7-month to 1-year-old Frenchie requires about 30-45 minutes of daily exercise. This can include short walks, playtime, and mental stimulation, such as puzzle toys, to keep them active and engaged.
A healthy young Frenchie will have a shiny coat, clear eyes, and a steady weight gain. They should also exhibit playful energy, a good appetite, and no signs of distress or illness.
Start with simple commands like "sit," "stay," and "come." Use positive reinforcement with treats or praise and practice consistently in short, fun sessions to keep them engaged.
1 - 2 yr Puppy Care
Choose a high-quality adult dog food tailored to small breeds. Look for a balance of protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients to maintain their energy and support muscle development.
Brush your Frenchie’s teeth 2-3 times a week using dog-safe toothpaste and provide dental chews or toys to help reduce plaque buildup. Regular dental check-ups with your vet are also important.
During this period, your Frenchie may become more independent or test boundaries. Reinforce training, establish clear routines, and provide consistent love and attention to maintain their good behavior.
Adult French Bulldogs should visit the vet at least once a year for routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care.
2 - 5 yr Puppy Care
Even as they mature, Frenchies need 20-30 minutes of exercise daily. Gentle walks, interactive toys, and light play sessions are perfect to keep them fit without overexertion.
Brush your Frenchie weekly to minimize shedding and keep their coat healthy. Clean their facial folds and ears regularly to prevent infections, and trim their nails every 4-6 weeks.
Watch for changes in appetite, energy levels, or breathing. Unusual behaviors like limping, excessive scratching, or difficulty moving should prompt a vet visit. Regular observation ensures early detection of potential problems.
Yes, supplements like glucosamine or omega-3 fatty acids can support joint health as your Frenchie ages. Consult your vet before introducing any supplements to their diet.
